Psychiatric Hospital at Home at Sharan

Psychiatric Hospital at Home is a high-quality alternative to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization in a hospital setting.

The focused intervention lasts on average about six weeks. At the beginning, care is intensive and includes frequent in-home visits. As the patient’s condition improves, the frequency of visits is gradually reduced, and online sessions are incorporated as well.

The process includes initial guidance toward rehabilitation, including assistance with benefits through the National Insurance Institute and support in obtaining eligibility for the rehabilitation basket, covering housing, employment, and leisure services.

The service is provided nationwide and includes:

  • Psychiatric assessment within a few days of receiving approval from Kupat Holim
  • A personalized treatment plan
  • In-home care by an experienced multidisciplinary team, including a psychiatrist, nurse, and social worker
  • When needed, the team is expanded to include a psychotherapist, dietitian, and occupational therapist
  • Attention to coexisting physical conditions, such as chronic illnesses
  • Support through a 24/7 service centre, available year-round

Psychiatric Hospital at Home is fully funded by Israel’s HMO’s (health maintenance organization) and involves no out-of-pocket costs for patients who meet the eligibility criteria defined by the Ministry of Health.

People we’ve been there for

We highly recommend them. They changed our lives. A professional, compassionate team that truly understands, attentive to every detail. Most importantly, they treat not only the condition itself but also the patient’s close environment. They support, guide, advise, and help solve problems. A service I truly didn’t know existed in this country. The highest level of care there is.

I believe you are doing sacred work by helping and supporting people at home who are in distress, both patients and their families. More power to you.

I am deeply grateful for your service. In my view, it is nothing less than lifesaving. My mother is living with cancer, is dependent on care, and is very weak. Hospitalization would have exposed her to infections and other risks. Hospital at Home made it possible for her to receive the necessary and most appropriate care for her condition. Thank you, thank you very much.

The professionalism and compassion you showed not only improved my mother’s condition but also strengthened our spirits during this time. I would like to emphasize how important it was for us to know that there was a skilled and caring team supporting us every step of the way.

I am moving to assisted living to continue my journey, but I am not saying goodbye yet. You were here just this past week, and you are already missing. I already miss the sound of the doorbell. I allow myself to say, “I love each and every one of you.” I will say goodbye, not farewell, as we say, and I will keep you updated on my next steps through the nursing coordinator.

Our team is here for you
“We learned that one of our patients had not seen his son for 14 years. We succeeded in stabilizing the patient’s mental and physical condition, and the peak of the process was locating his son and bringing them together for a meeting. I am grateful for the privilege of helping patients and restoring their lives in many ways that are not necessarily medical.”
